Let me introduce Mr. Ryan Miller- a man with a mustache, a beautiful woman on his arm, and a shirt offering “free mustache rides.”
Ryan came to me about a month ago and asked if I would be interested in shooting some photos of his mustache. Of course I said “yes.” The portrait photos were fairly straightforward to get; a couple lights, a reflector, and a white wall. For the rest, I used a technique I saw photographer Nick Turpin using here. I’ve been lighting with one light source in the mountains for a while now, and have been searching for ways to cut down on setup time. Nick’s technique centers around the same easy setup ideal, so I thought I’d give it a try.
Thanks to both Patrick and Hart for their help holding lights and reflectors, and to Ryan and Tiger Lily for their amazing modeling!
