Fishing the Li River

The title may be a bit misleading. I didn’t do any fishing, but I met a dude who does.

The Li River at dusk.

These birds were the old school way of fishing on the river. The fishermen would tie a string around their neck and then let them go catch fish — The string kept them from being able to swallow the fish and the fisherman would then pull it out of their mouth. I’m told there are only six fishermen left that fish this way.

Moon Hill

Hiked up a mountain outside of Yangshuo today called ‘Moon Hill.’ Here’s some photos of the views along the way and from the top, along with one from the bottom looking up at the ‘moon’ shaped arch.
